Challenge
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MPSV) needed a way to unify development across various departments and accelerate the time-to-market for new government administration applications. The existing landscape was fragmented, leading to process duplication and inconsistent security standards.
Solution
As the Lead Architect, I created a comprehensive company framework based on Spring Boot 3. The solution included:
- Modular Architecture: A set of shared libraries and starter kits for REST and SOAP services.
- Standardized Infrastructure: Integrated Apache Kafka for asynchronous, reliable communication between systems.
- Built-in Security & Observability: Introduction of standardized libraries for OAuth2 security, unified logging, and Prometheus/Grafana monitoring.
- Developer Experience: Extensive documentation and automated CI/CD templates to streamline onboarding.
Impact
The framework achieved a 40% reduction in deployment time for new services. Performance optimizations within the core libraries resulted in a 40% improvement in average response times across the platform.
